Introducing Numeric Input for Ratings
Admins can now configure continuous rating scales with custom ranges and step sizes, allowing reviewers to enter scores directly without creating dozens of rating options.
Whatβs New?
1. Numeric Input for Goal, Question & Competency Blocks
- Configure Numeric Input alongside List and Dropdown in standard and 360Β° review forms.
- Define continuous rating bands using From, To, and Label.
- Set step sizes from 0.01 to 1, with 1 as the default.
- Allow reviewers to enter scores directly on the web and in Slack write modals.
- Support keyboard navigation with up/down arrow keys and optional N/A responses.
- Automatically enable score visibility when Numeric Input is selected.
2. Consistent Precision for Calculated Scores
- Goal scores, section scores, and overall scores retain their existing calculation behavior.
- Display precision now follows the configured Set decimal precision setting instead of always displaying one decimal place.
3. Numeric Input Support in Calibration
- List and Dropdown ratings continue to use dropdowns.
- Numeric Input ratings follow the same range and step-size rules configured in the review form.
- Formula-based and calculated columns continue to support free numeric entry.
What Stays Locked Mid-Cycle?
To protect existing responses, certain configuration changes are restricted once responses exist on a form:
- Switching between Numeric Input and List/Dropdown.
- Changing the step size.
- Editing Goal rating values, although labels remain editable where previously allowed.
- Changing the rating scale structure of existing List/Dropdown forms. Automatic migration is not supported.
Why It Matters?
Numeric Input makes rating configuration faster and more flexible for admins and Customer Success teams, while giving reviewers a simpler scoring experience.
Whether you need a broad range like 79β120, granular ratings from 1β5 in 0.1 increments, or direct progress entry from 0β100, you can configure the scale to fit your needs while protecting existing responses through mid-cycle safeguards.
